The science is already here.
Insulin. Stem cells. The genomics work that rewrote how disease is understood. Canada has never had a discovery problem. What has been missing is the ground in between: testing, validation, manufacture, and someone who has done it before sitting across the table. Audacity North is being built on that ground.
The model
From an idea to a first customer, without leaving.
York Region already has a great deal: universities, hospitals, talent and capital. What it has not had is one place where a company can go the whole distance. Most hubs start with a lease. This one starts with a working lab, and builds outward from there.
A venture studio that turns research into companies.
Design, iteration and build, on site.
Manufacture and packaging close enough to visit in a morning.
Accredited testing without a waitlist or a flight.
Validation and submission support alongside the bench.
Coaching and network, with our university and business school partners.
Investors who already understand the sector.
Clinical and industry partners who can put it to work.
Some of this operates today. Some is being built. We always say which.

Two campuses in York Region, developed by founding partners with facilities, land and operating experience already in place.

Nothing here is described as operating until it is. That rule applies to every document we publish, including the ones asking for money.
The founding partnership is being assembled now.
A limited number of founding positions, taken up before there is anything to point at. That is what founding means.
The charitable purpose
A mission with a name.
Logan was born here in York Region with an ultra-rare genetic condition. He is the reason this exists.
The Institute carries his name and works on rare disease, where the number of people affected is small enough that no company will ever fund the tools required to study it. That is not neglect. It is arithmetic, and arithmetic does not correct itself.
It also does a second job, and it is the more demanding one. The Institute is the question every other part of the hub has to answer.
Nobody here builds medical technology for its own sake. If a company in this building cannot say whose life it changes, it is in the wrong building.
